There is nothing quite like the first day of a new school year. It was wonderful to welcome all students back to campus on Wednesday.
We saw lots of smiles, laughter, and fist bumps as teachers ushered students back into the classrooms for the new year. For those of us who have been here all summer, it was delightful to see and hear the halls filled with conversation again.
Middle School kicked things off with an extended Advisory and Town Meeting on Wednesday morning. As always, Mr. Brown brought his enthusiastic energy and playlists to the stage. It was wonderful to see everyone, new and returning, in the same place for the first time.
While it was a short and sweet first week, students have started to settle in to the routine. They’ve received their locker assignments, which is always a huge deal, and started to make sense of where they will need to be and when. Advisory groups are bonding and expectations are being set. After speaking with students and teachers around campus, the overall consensus is that things are going very well, though everyone is eager to get to more of the good stuff – learning!
