Electives are here, and flipping through the elective catalog keeps curiosity flowing at the start of each trimester.
From committed musicians to aspiring chess masters and artistic gardeners, students are exploring things outside of the core curriculum.
Plus, we're thrilled to welcome several new classes and new teachers! Mr. Winbush, our new performing arts teacher is bringing the Meadows Theater alive once again with the Theatre Workshops; and Ms. Marie Hsu, our new 7th-grade math teacher, has added a beading class to the mix.
New elective courses include:
Wall Street Wizards with Mr. Scott
Paperwings: Exploring the Physics of Flight with Mr. Y
History in the Movies with Mr. Schug
All About Animals with Ms. Boudreau
Lord of the Rings with Mr. Y
Phoenix Fitness with Coach Levy
Making Cheong! with Mr. Perez
Coach Levy gave a sneak peak into the fist Phoenix Fitness class where students began learning about the human skeletal system. Check out the photos! You can see how they worked in groups to identify where to place the correct bone to their live human skeleton (classmate). They started with 8 bones (cranium, tibia, humerus, femur, sternum, clavicle, radius, patella), and they'll eventually learn the entire skeletal system.
All electives started this week. We can’t wait to see the creativity, knowledge, and fun abound.
